Blow Moulding, also known as blow molding, is a fast-growing method of processing plastics. The tubular plastic parison formed by extrusion or injection molding of the thermoplastic resin is placed in the split mould while it is hot (or heated to a softening state) , and immediately after the closure of the mould, a Compressed air is inserted into the parison, causing the plastic parison to blow and stick to the inner wall of the mould, after Cooling and demoulding, various hollow products are obtained.
The process of blowing film is similar in principle to that of hollow products, but it does not use a mold. From the point of view of classification of plastic processing technology, the process of blowing film is usually included in extrusion.
According to the parison making method, blow molding can be divided into extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding.
